Moving Toward the Good

When you dislike someone or something, your natural inclination might be to run away or avoid them. Actually, I have found that a much better method is precisely the opposite. The way I see it, the issue with that person or thing can be better resolved not by avoiding them, but by getting closer to or approaching them. Its just like the old saying: Keep Your Friends close, Your Enemies Closer. By doing this, you accomplish several things. You easily gain a much deeper understanding of that person or thing, which helps you to easily overcome your fear of and or misunderstanding of them -something you cannot do by running in the opposite direction. Confronting your fear, which may seem difficult at first, is always easier in the long run. Keep Your Friends close, Your Enemies Closer is a positive and effective approach.
